Passkeys

Understand what a passkey is, how to add it to your Internet Identity, and what steps to take if you lose it.

Removing Old Passkeys

Old passkeys may no longer be in use. To verify this, check if any of the devices you’ve signed in with are still using them and review their last used date.

If a passkey hasn’t been used in a while, it’s a good indication that it may no longer be necessary. Additionally, some passkeys are linked to the old internet identity domain.

For improved security and functionality, we recommend adding new passkeys on the current internet identity domain and removing any associated with the old domain. This will ensure a smoother sign-in experience going forward.
